I will start by defining what a den is, it is a a place where animals go and find a shelter, it has one entrance, no windows neither ventilators. In this story, to me a den look like a place where man is held back in ignorance of not knowing what reality lies before him the way of his living becomes his reality. Humans are taught right from childhood how there will live and survive in future and in this story the writer is showing that as humans, we are held in slaves by our own beliefs from childhood where future can only be predicted before our eyes our minds can not think beyond today. There are always obstacles that stand between man and the future. In this story, as much as these people in the den could see the light but still obstacle on their way to keep them back.
